Organized by BDISIRN1, CRIE2, UTFPR’s Green Office3and the Graduate Schools of Business of Universidade Positivo4 and UFPR5, with the support of Fundação Araucária6.

Conference goals:

The conference aims to promote academic reflection and to improve knowledge about internationalization, sustainability and innovation, adopting different perspectives in analyzing those issues and trying to understand the relationships among them. For the purpose of this conference, we intend to consider sustainable actions and analyze innovative practices that lead to the reduction of social and environmental unbalance and to the improvement of well-being and the education for sustainability. Therefore, the conference is an open forum that welcomes “multiple voices” that are willing to discuss the transformation of organizational practices and the mobilization of civil society towards a more active role in determining its own sustainable future.
Considering a post-Rio+20 context, papers that deal with Internationalization, Sustainability, Innovation and Technology are all welcome, especially if they can integrate two or three of these issues. As provocatively stated in the conference’s title (“Sustainable internationalization / Internationalization of sustainability”), this international conference intends to discuss the competitive edge that can be achieved by adopting sustainable practices in the global market.

This event will accept two kinds of papers:

  • Academic papers: submitted abstracts should provide evidence of a strong concern with methodology (need to be scientific). Abstracts need to have an introduction section in which there is some contextualization and the presentation of the objective, literature review concerning previous work on the subject, methodological procedures, analysis of empirical data (if applicable) and conclusions.
  • Cases of entrepreneurial/executive/social (NGO) experiences: submitted abstracts should present solutions to practical problems in companies or non-governmental organizations. In this case, authors should be more concerned with the practical lessons that can be taken from their actions, which can help other practitioners. Such abstracts should not aim just at promoting the organizations. The innovation and sustainability of the proposed practices have to be very clear for the initiative to be chosen for presentation at the conference.

Submissions:

Have the following information available prior to starting the submission process: title of the paper, names of authors (max. 3 per paper), affiliations, countries, email addresses, CPF (Brazilians) or passport number (others), short abstract (up to 250 words to be published in the electronic proceedings) and extended abstracts (from 2.000 to 3.000 words for evaluation by the scientific committee).
Remember that abstracts must be submitted in the English language.
